GDBT Weekend Wrap Up

Hey all! Thank you once again for hopping, posting on your blogs, and commenting. It's so fun to meet everyone and I'm not just saying that!

What a boring weekend this was, mostly spent time trying not to fall asleep. We are having a nasty heat wave and there was a small fire. For once it wasn't right outside my house and for that I'm grateful!

Mostly we just hung out as a family, which is always nice. Watched the NEW "Clash of The Titans" and the boys really enjoyed it. Saw bits of "Sharktopus" and my oldest son thought it was the best movie he ever saw! lol He's obsessed with the ocean and this was the ocean w/half naked girls. What's better than that when you are 14?

In reading news, finished "All But My Life" and now I'm trying to find the HBO movie of it. We don't actually have HBO but there's got to be a way to view it. Since we were having a holocaust themed reading lesson, I also read a book from my youngest child's school called "Four Perfect Pebbles." Dumbed down for little kids, but still worthy. Next I need to read the rest of Chelsea Handler's "My Horizontal Life." It's taken me forever because there is only so much funny in being a slut. After the first 30 encounters you realize that it's just plain sad. I really want to ditch the rest altogether and get started on Sarah Silverman's "Bedwetter."

So the past week (and possibly still), it was the Jewish celebration of Fall aka sukkot. We sit under a sukkah (tent w/palm fronds). Shake stuff and hang lemons. Okay, so we did none of this, but we wished we could! lol Please don't ask me why the lemons, fronds, etc. I grew up in NYC and I had no idea about this holiday until my kids went to preschool in San Diego at the synagogue.

Bass practice has been awesome! I played a lot of Zeppelin and The Beatles this weekend. I just downloaded some Cheap Trick tabs, weird I know but heard it on the radio and had to have it! Hoping the band will play sometime this week. Singing has been good but I'm definitely not ready to play bass and sing! Singing comes first, gotta keep the boys going and let them know where we are in the song.

I am living on a diet of pills, Hawaiian sweet rolls, coffee, and grapes. No weight has been lost and I'm just not surprised anymore. If you read my other blog "Bipolar Girl World" , later this week I will be going over the fun and follies of medication. Weight gain and other gross stuff that goes along w/being me.

Tonight is the season premier of "Family Guy" and it's gonna be awesome! I don't know what else is coming out this week, but we did watch "Outsourced" and "The Big Bang Theory" premiers. Outsourced was actually funny, even though in my regular life I fail to see the humor regarding Americans losing their jobs and foreigners getting underpaid to replace them. I also have a personal problem with this because in my industry we compete with people that are so poor, they can afford to do $1 banners. NOT their fault, but I wish we could all get paid fairly. Big Bang was sooo good! I have always loved this show and I'm really glad it's doing well in the ratings. Introducing Blossom for Sheldon's girlfriend on the show was pure genius! There was a funny part where Wallowitz (forgive my spelling) got his penis stuck in a robot hand. Nerd porno!

Anywho, Jersey Shore is almost over and I have decided Pauly D is my fav. Rumors that he is getting his own show and I can't wait! I love all his funny sayings; this time of year... t-shirt time...etc. etc. he amuses me☺

I put up a new banner on Etsy to honor my favorite season...

I know I did some work this weekend, but I can't remember what? lol

Thanks for reading,

I absolutely love designing clip art and creating beautiful logos for my Etsy friends. There's nothing like working with my fellow Etsians on design projects. Best part? Most of us like the same things so it's not too painful to come up with ideas! lol

Please visit my other blog and befriend me. Promise to add some thoughts to it soon, just busy, busy.

Bipolar Girl World

I also wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been sending me referrals and pointing others in my direction. I appreciate it and I won't let you down!

Today I spent all day pondering the meaning of life (in particular homeschooling a 14 yr. old boy), and I have decided that I need to work less. They are only young for such a short time and it seems like just yesterday we were having first days of preschool and other cute milestones. Who knew they would grow and take over??? lol

Thanks for reading, more reality show fun tomorrow!

Clip art is a' coming!

Hey dear readers and friendly other visitors! I am adding some fantastic and affordable clip art to my Etsy shop.
I have some more owls in the works and I'm going to do some pretty Fall themes. Maybe even Halloween? Depending on how long it takes me in between my less fun projects...

Weekend Wrap Up.

Another successful blog hop! Thank you to everyone who participated and posted on their sites, I truly appreciate it! I do put all of your Hop buttons on my blog, I just do it permanently. Please scroll down to the bottom and you will see them there.

I played with the band this weekend. Yes, I am actually almost good enough to do a basic song on my bass now. I practiced with TABs all weekend (TABs is a different form of reading music). I can read music perfectly however, I haven't learned to go from piano to bass yet. It's just so darn confusing to learn something new at 39! I also got to sing and we did some songs I like this time. I really want to add a bit here, but the husband hasn't set up the recorder yet. I'd ask him, but he's passed out on the couch! lol Does anyone in this house ever want to go outside? I know I have to work and homeschool, but I actually don't want to be in here. IDK??

Anywho.. nothing else really exciting. Dogs is dogs, kids is kids, and I'm looking forward to some new reality shows. I believe "The Next Iron Chef" is coming out this week. Did anyone catch "Top Chef"? Awesome winner, nice guy. MTV shafted us this week by promising new Jersey Shore episodes after the Video Music Awards and at the regular time on Thursday. But they played the same darn one! I've been watching the dailies but they suck:*(

In intelligent reading news, I have just finished "My Lobotomy" by Howard Dully. Actually much more than just about his surgery that was forced on him when he was only 12. The author had a very famous documentary made about him on NPR and it had the highest response ever recorded. It's a good read if you aren't into things like Nora Roberts, Jodi Piccoult, etc. I personally love history and biography so it was right up my alley. I'm reading "A Holocaust Diary" now. It's the story of a Russian girl from a well to do family that is taken to a work camp in Nazi Germany. Another interesting point in the story is that she may actually have been Jewish on her father's side, but is treated much better than the Jews. So far, can't stand the interruptions by the person who put it all together for the book. But other than that great story and really takes you back to the landscape of 1918-1930's Russia.

A funny thing (I think) that happened this weekend. I decided I was sick of not having enough places to sit in my living room. I was going to move a whole extra couch in here, but I ended up putting two huge armchairs together like a soft hospital bed. Well, I had a migraine for 24 hours straight and all I did was lay there and eat Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. I have to admit, this was the best and cheapest vacation I ever had! lol Only problem is people didn't recognize I wasn't here anymore and kept making me get up to cook and clean. Plus, do you ever rest when you have 4 little dogs?

Hope everyone had a great weekend, thanks for reading!

Questions and Answers

1. Tara, will you be doing anything market related and/or graphic design on this new blog?

No

2. Do you plan on exposing more personal things about yourself and finally explaining the madness that is you and your life?

Yes

3. Should we be afraid of you and be scared to buy your graphic design services now that we know you are bipolar?

Bipolar people in general are pretty harmless. I have always preferred to destroy my own life as opposed to others. You can still count on me like you always have.

4. Does this mean you will neglect us here?

No

5. Will the Blog Hop continue?

Yes

6. Why are you opening yourself up to stereotypes, judgements, and ignorant comments on your new blog?

Because the term "bipolar" is completely mislabeled and needs a new marketing spin. Who better to do that! lol

As always, thanks for reading. Join me in my new blog adventure if you dare! Life in reality is not for the faint of heart.

VMAs and The Shore who could ask for anything more!

Hello people! Get ready for some fun, fun, fun! MTV has combined 3 of the things I have been loving lately. Chelsea Handler, Jersey Shore, and of course the classic and fantastic Eminem. Other stand out shout outs go to Taylor Swift for staying classy (even though she can't sing too well, bless her heart) she's a fantastic entertainer.Chelsea wasn't too funny last night either however, her books are a 10 bathroom trip read! lol Thank you to the MTV gods for smiling on us again by bringing back an oldy but a goody, personal fav Eminem. It's not the music people, it's the way he sells it!

Other highlights from last night; Jersey Shore extra bonus all NEW episode! First Vinny, who I am beginning to intensely dislike at this point. His mama and family come to visit and I absolutely adore them. His uncle is deemed an "OG" (old school guido) by the boys. Basically no one understands anything he says, but it doesn't matter because he's loud and everyone's drunk anyway. Pauly D and Vinnie meet some classy aka not sleeping w/them girls and compare them to "rare roses". What they don't plan for is that Vinny's girl is so classy she stands him up! Dodged a bullet there sweetheart! Snooki has a one night stand, Pauly D makes noises at her. Noises I now do constantly during the day and I can't even spell phonetically?? Ronni and Sammi just hang in the background. The Situation does nothing which is becoming his theme the past couple of weeks. J-Wow also continues to not WOW as big boobed wallpaper. Angelina is still dating Jose who is one of those people that looks good in certain light.. need I say more? Situation forces her to tell she slept w/Vinny and then brands her the house whore. Which is really funny because she slept with one guy and didn't have a boyfriend. While Ronni did some things to Sam for months and they didn't say boo about it. Not to mention Snooki sleeping w/anyone who asks. Stay tuned for next week when Angelina tells everyone in the house they are all fake and Snooki gets down and dirty to fight her. For Snooki this consists of asking someone to hold her earrings. Some thoughts from Pauly D and The Situation before we go...

Vinny likes visiting the Staten Island Dump this time of year.
Pauly D

Angelina is like the Staten Island Ferry, it's free to get on and there's always another one coming. Or something like that??
The Situation

I wish I could top myself here, but how can I follow Pauly D?

Thanks for reading,
T♥

Worth mentioning..

Lauren Conrad (original Hills Girl), continues to carry on in a classy manner by placing up high repeatedly on the New York Times bestseller list, doing a fashion line for Kohls, and just being beautiful inside/out. All you Hills leeches should take a lesson. Especially Audrina. Honey, when you lose 30 pounds the fake boobies don't look right! Either get some more plastic surgery to fix it, stop being anorexic, or take those suckers out! I liked you better when you lived with Lauren and she at least made you eat breakfast. So far Heidi and Spencer would have us believe they are staying divorced. But what is the odds of them coincidentally taking time off in Costa Rico? And that Spencer is a real gem, he just got arrested there on weapons charges and claimed he'd been surviving alone in the jungle killing animals. Does anybody else remember that "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" show they walked off of because they were little b*tches??

Okay, I guess I always have more to say!

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Wrap it up, I'll take it!

And yet another fantabulous weekend comes fastly to a halt. So much to do, so much to say, so much to blow away! Whatever, not my best rip off writing..

What did the Van Stelle family circus do this weekend? Mostly tried not to lose it w/our oldest due to incessant talking, OCD, and nagging. My husband took me out of the house alone for all of 30 minutes which probably saved me from jumping off the nearest cliff! We welcome in yet another Jewish New Year, remembered 9/11, and ate a bunch of cookies!

Best parts of the weekend;

Getting my rock on b☺tch! Went to Guitar Center and bought some bass books. Went for a bass strap, but no good ones. My youngest offered me his checkered black/white '80's style one (my room in the 80's was pink/black checkers), and I'm going to bedazzle the f'ck out of it w/pink gems in all the white squares.

Playing my new bass all in TAB♥

Eating the afore mentioned cookies.

Tons of coffee, w/cookies.

Reading Chelsea Handler books and running to the restroom from laughing.

Not having much work, yay!

Having a good cry over "The Power of One"

Let's not even go there w/the bad stuff, I don't have the time before my next bathroom break.

Hope you all has as much fun and excitement as I did!

Thanks for reading,

As We Welcome in the New Year, We Also Remember 9/11..

Sorry to be late with something so important! 2 things I love (besides my family), my country, and New York City. So when both things were attacked I was in a deep depression for many years after. This year 9/11 falls during Rosh Hashanah aka Jewish New Year. I just received this email and I think it speaks a lot to overcoming ignorance, intolerance, and holding what really matters close.

As 5771 Approaches....

This week the Jews began their 5771 st on this earth! Who would have believed this possible? If anyone had told Abraham that his people would be around this long he probably would have been astounded.

Imagine, we did this without beheading anyone on TV, without a single

suicide bomber , without kidnapping and murdering school children,

without slaughtering Olympic athletes, and without flying airplanes

into skyscrapers.

We lasted this long despite 400 years as slaves in Egypt , 40 years of

wandering in the desert, the mighty Roman army who nailed us to ten

thousand crosses; despite the best efforts of fervent Crusaders, the

Spanish Inquisition, Hitler's third Reich, Stalin's gulags, Arab wars

of annihilation and 100 years of hateful terrorism, hundreds of

hate-filled UN resolutions.

How did we Jews do it? We survived by concentrating our efforts on

education, love of family, faith, hard work, helping one another and a

passionate dedication to life no matter what evil befell us.

We hung in there in hope the rest of the world would one day overcome

it's hatreds, jealousies, violence and join us in a life of cooperation

and mutual respect.

We're not there yet, but we're still hopeful. And when so many of us

enter our places of worship next weekend, this is what we'll pray for

with all the strength in our hearts.

Best wishes for a New Year filled with health, happiness, laughter,

success, joy, and kindness and may this coming year bring peace and

security to Israel , to the Jewish communities in the Diaspora and to

our planet.

5771 and counting.

Just a few things I made this week...

More interesting rants/raves tomorrow, for now Jersey Shore dailies!

Thanks for reading!

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Big deal, it's Wednesday...

So my bad attitude continues! lol I am not wanting to work for the first time in a long time and this is all due to the fact that there is no pleasing some people:*( No matter how fast you are, attentive, responsive, etc. they just don't want to make it go smoothly. So now I gotta go play bill collector and I'm just over it!

In much, much, more important news, Teen Mom was on last night, YAY! I LOVE Maci and I can't stand anyone else on that show. But I must watch, it's my duty to report it. Ryan aka absent sperm donor, now has decided he needs more time w/his son. So this jobless wonder who still lives at home, goes to see an attorney. Attorney fills his head w/thoughts of what a REAL father should have, Ryan decides to take Maci to court over custody issues. Now will someone explain to me how an out of work guy who lives with his mommy can afford to fight for custody? Not to mention that he could care less and is really only doing this because his parents and girlfriend are forcing him. Also in this episode he complains that by the time Bentley is 18 he will have spent $80,000 on him. Or was it $18,000? Now I can't remember but my point was that are we really complaining about this? People spend that much a year on Costco! It's your kid you schmuck, why would you even tell anyone that your a cheap ass in the first place? Next week, Maci looks for an apt. near the love of her life and Ryan uses his parents to get a lawyer. Yawn....

Jersey Shore, can't wait for Thursday! I've been watching the dailies on MTV and although stupid, fun to hold you over. Mostly people looking in the mirror at themselves, accessorizing, and showing their crotch! lol On this week's episode we get to see the after effects of the Sammi vs. J-Wow fight. There was a funny statement I read somewhere about the kitchen being trashed from it and broken nails and hair extensions were everywhere!!! Also, I have developed the Snooki whine! Every few minutes of the show you will hear Snooki let out some whimpery/whiney noises whenever she gets into her usual shenanigans. Seems it's contagious because now I'm doing it and annoying the cr*p out of myself and possibly even my dogs!

In other gossipy fun, Perez Hilton has started a new site for his son/dog Teddy Hilton to give us the latest doggy news.

http://teddyhilton.com/

Surprisingly well thought out and some great animal reads. Take some time to read about Morrissey/animal cruelty in China and how Sea World is killing the killer whales. Have I mentioned in previous rants how much I HATE Sea World? That their tanks are so disorienting for dolphins and whales for their sonar that they go mad? Anywho, another whale bites the dust and it's now Whales 1 Trainers 1 since Jan. The thing about Morrissey is that they are calling him racist now for saying that the Chinese are subhuman. But I'm thinking it's being taken out of context and what his trying to say is that their practice of throwing a bunch of house pets in small metal cages, skinning them alive, and then sewing them into collars is sub human. Am I wrong on this people? Morrissey is a lover, not a hater. Go animals, f'k the fur industry.

Now I know that I promised last week I would not be watching the shitacioust Real World ever. But I saw the preview of Jimmy hitting Knight and I just would enjoy seeing that sooo much! Unfortunately for you dear readers, this means we will both be reliving it soon via blog. Sorry!

In Book Club News... I have now finished reading Suzi Quatro and moved on to Chelsea Handler. "Are You There Vodka, It's me Chelsea". So far so good will keep everyone posted...

Homeschool is on and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Real work starts when the complaining does. It's got to be incredibly boring for a 14 1/2 yr. old to hang out all day w/his mom. But there isn't Kindermusik or Gymboree for a teenager, so what to do? Not to mention that little 'ol thing that I call work!

Random thoughts... Do they have therapists that can help your therapist, after you talk their ear off and make them want to quit their jobs???

Weekend Wrap Up...

Even though this is technically a "Holiday" weekend, I am wrapping it up now before anything else happens! lol

The best of times and the worst of times...

Best;

My 12 year old is happy to start Middle School Tuesday☺

New Cupcakes Pistachio, Pink and yum!

Great Clients this week/weekend and some fantastic logos I'm really proud of. I will be showing them soon.

Short but sweet date w/hubby.

Fantastic BBQ w/our wonderful friends cooking. Unfortunately, my crazy life style no longer permits me to host so I really appreciate it when others cook!

Bought some great new books I'll be reviewing soon.

The worst..

Welcome to my nightmare, HOMESCHOOL HELL!!!!! Let me explain before all of you homeschoolers get your knickers in a bunch☺ This ain't my first rodeo w/homeshooling and I'm definitely not qualified for it. My 14 yr. old spent Jan.-June w/me this year and Jan.-June when he was 12. My situation is NOT because I HATE the public schools, so believe me when I say I completely support your choice to homeschool. My son has many issues (none of which are his fault). But I blindly and stupidly accepted it when he said he was ready to go back to school. I won't even get into it here, but he absolutely cannot go to a traditional school and I shouldn't have kidded myself. Now I am faced w/many dilemmas and I have decided that I will hire an organizer/tutor for once a week. Maybe that will help? Has anyone else ever tried socializing a 14 yr. old at home? He has the most fantastic homeschool program in San Diego but just couldn't find any kids to bond w/last year.

I also have a couple of payment jumpers on projects I've completed. Really irritating to work so hard on something and then the people just disappear...

Worst thing of all, I have gained 4 lbs. directly in my thighs and boobs so now my pants fit in the waist but are cutting off my circulation below and all of my cute tops are stuck you know where!!! I even had food poisoning last week and didn't eat for 48 hours and gained this weight! Damn you cupcakes, damn you I say!

My husband's biz is all in an uproar so he will continue to be out of sight, completely on the mind, this week.

Looking Forward to;

Watching the new Kardashians I'm recording tonight, Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, hopefully seeing my long lost friends that keep asking "what happened to us?", and getting my GTL on!!!

Finishing this Suzi Quatro book that was short enough to read in an hour, but so badly written it took me over a month! lol Great book if you have the patience for someone shouting facts at you. Mind you, interesting facts.

Maybe one night w/out insomnia?

New challenging jobs, I know you are coming my way!

Thanks for reading!

How fantastic is...

This gal's shop and new banner?? lol Seriously, seriously, I LOVE this type of design and if I wasn't a jewelry designer myself, and a Target bracelet wearer, I would shell out some cash!

As you my readers/followers/hangers on know, I do not feature artists on this blog. I did do this for years and years on my other blogs, but I like to stay away from it now because I play favorites! lol So you know when I say something is Beautiful, I don't do it lightly.

So enjoy the jewelry and have a looksee at my fav colors on her banner too.

Welcome to "Trash it up Thursday"

Bringing you the trashiest trash talk that grandma will allow!

Let's start with the "Real World New Orleans"..

This is the last time I will be talking about this craptacular show because it is not only the WORST Real World ever, but the most boring. Okay, there were some other boring ones, but these are the ugliest people and boring! Last night Ryan was kicked off and threw a hissy. Everyone golfed and talked sh*t. This is basically it. Next!

I mentioned that I finally got to sit down and watch all of this season's Project Runway episodes. Important point here, they have done away with the fabulous behind the scenes "Models of The Runway", therefore taking away the catfight fun! So now even though we know Peach's model is a complete failure, we don't know what the other girls are saying about her:*( This season has a lot of fun queens (I say this w/tremendous love), Casanova stands out as the one I would want to fag hag around with. He had a huge breakdown in ep. 5 and couldn't go on after the judges kept telling him his gowns were for senior citizens. Which incidentally was being kind. So after his pity party he decides he really is a designer and whips out this fabulous outfit! I mean truly amazing and if I could wear white pants I'd buy it. Good for you Casanova, you had us all fooled! On a crazy b&tch note, there is Gretchen. Now she won the first 2 challenges and I guess rightfully so? Her first dress looked like mother of the bride but the judges loved it! I mean, who wears shoulder appliques anymore??? Anywhoo, She now thinks her cr*p doesn't stink and everyone else does. So she is the self appointed Nazi leader of the work room. In episode 5 she destroys her whole team w/her non fab taste and bossiness. Of course they all follow her blindly because after all, most people are sheep. Sorry, it's just true. The best part is that the underdog team wins and this is where Casanova claims his victory! Gretchen decides before her team goes out to explain their sh*tty designs, that she will make a statement of unity to the judges. Unfortunately, she is a narcisisstic scumbag so she throws her team under the bus within minutes. Instead of growing backbones they decide she's right and then blame the whole thing on Michael who (surprise, surprise), won immunity the week before for being beyond amazing in his design! Easy to throw the person w/immunity out. So this is the bs that happens, the only person who blamed themselves and wasn't a sheep, gets thrown off!!!! He takes one for his sh#tty team and no one even treats him nicely when he leaves. So now I'm actually kinda waiting for episode 6 to get posted so I can watch. I HATE U GRETCHEN! Plus, you have mullet bangs!!!!

Tonight is the bomb, you be you, I do me, GTL, etc.!!! I'm going to Jersey Shore bitch!! I have been watching the dailies all week, "Sammi Does Her Hair", "Truck Driver", "Losing My Tan", and some other faboo Jersey attrocities. I've been doing the GTL minus the G and L so I hope I don't lose my Jersey Fan Club card. This episode tonight shows my girl Sammi (who is my 20 yr. old me) knocking the sh*t out of that stripper girl w/the cheapo boobs J-Wow. She's like a really ugly boy/girl w/boobs. I'm really not sure at this point she has a vag??? But I digress... I'm wondering besides Sammi knocking her down what happens? And will her pussy bfriend/hater Ronni put down the steroids long enough to take her side? Doubtful, very, very, doubtful. But we can hope! She is the best thing that's ever happened to him and boy is he going to be sorry when this show is gone like the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block. Forgot to mention, SOOOO obvious Angelina has it bad for Pauly-D!! I can't figure it except for that he's especially hatin' on her. The guy is dumb, I mean painfully dumb and not even funny stupid.

In coincidental news... my husband told me he was approached to take his firm to Jersey to which he said "Hell NO", which wasn't because he hates Jersey or anything, but because we live in SoCal. Is it bad that I secretly dreamed of going there, getting a poof, and visiting a Jersey Salon and clothing store???

Today, kid orientation at school and trudging through the trenches of logo design. I will not specify which one, but I have official logo block. Like writer's block but you end up with bad feedback! I swear I will start working on the Fall Freebie PIF Banners for my Etsy friends. One more weird thing, I had SEVERE food poisoning from homemade BoBa (don't judge), and I am the only person in the world who can gain weight from this. WTF?

Remember, tomorrow we all hop together at my Weekend Blog Hop!

Thanks for reading,

New Pour Vous!

Greetings to my fellow friends and bloggers! Today has just been amazing so far. I love a day where no one complains, things get done in a timely manner, and the house is clean! Here's some new logos and graphics hot off the Adobe Illustrator...

For some reason I felt the need today to make some clip art. See, when people say my work is "clip art" it should be a compliment!!! lol I plan on selling it for commercial use. I've already made robots, cats, etc. I'm also going to try to complete a Fall Banner for freesies to give you wonderful people. Right now I currently have 3 new logo clients, (just today) and some other engagements I'm still working on. Hoping to keep this all down to a min. so I can do the fun stuff like blogging, nails, tanning, etc. I think I need to get my "GTL" on!! lol

In other news, coming up later I'm going to blast out some thoughts on MTV's Teen Mom (another of my guilty pleasures and probably my fav reality show after Jersey Shore:). I also want to talk about that crazy bitch Gretchen on "Project Runway".

Okay, better go before I lose customers and give away all my coming soon info...

Thanks for reading!
